FAQs

To keep your Hyundai's performance up-to-date without you having to visit a retailer, we have introduced technology to send and install software updates over the air (via the Internet) to the cars directly – the same way that computers and smartphones get updates. These kind of software updates are called Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. OTA car updates are commonly applied to vehicle system and infotainment software.

IONIQ 6 is the first Hyundai equipped for OTA vehicle software updates.

OTA updates are free of charge during the complimentary period of Bluelink services. In order to keep using the OTA updates after the complimentary period, you need to extend your subscription of Bluelink.

The infotainment system will guide you through which steps are necessary to conduct a vehicle software update successfully.

The vehicle update should be performed according to the instructions on the Infotainment screen. There are certain requirements you may have to fulfil. Once this is done, you can leave the car and do not have to wait until the update installation is finished.
