The opening of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup™ is just around the corner.
The women's world cup—which has grown into a sports event anticipated by people all over the world—holds a special place in Hyundai’s heart. Aligned with Hyundai’s vision of “Progress for Humanity,” Hyundai has been helping women unleash their talent through the sponsorship of the world-class tournament since 1999.
In celebration of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™, Hyundai will launch a new Goal of the Century campaign that will unveil our vision to the world. We believe that awareness of social issues is needed to better the world, which is why we feel strongly about sponsoring this tournament. How far we’ve come
Football has had a painful history of being banned for women.
Society deemed the sport to be unfitting for them. However, times have changed, and women’s football has become a sport celebrated by people all over the world. Hyundai has also always believed, and continues to believe, that everyone deserves the same chances in life, on and off the pitch. This is why Hyundai has been supporting the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ for almost a quarter of a century, starting with the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ that took place in the United States.
Hyundai holds an admirable position of being a company that has sponsored the women's world cup for seven consecutive tournaments, including this year’s FIFA Women's World Cup™ held in Australia and New Zealand. As a long-time fan of women's football, Hyundai hopes to bring more people on board to learn about the history of women's football and to join us in supporting its growth. We are excited to launch the new Goal of the Century campaign. Doesn't the transformation of the protagonist in the campaign teaser-video spark your interest?
The campaign that Hyundai will unveil is a tribute to the journey of women's football and to all those who have been a part of it. Furthermore, this campaign will serve as the driving force to commemorate the long road we have taken, and to empower us to boldly continue on the path toward the goal of the century.
A world where sporting talents shine
Hyundai has believed in the importance of creating a world where everyone has equal opportunities to unleash their talents and pursue their dreams in sports. Therefore, Hyundai's sponsorship efforts have extended beyond the women's world cup and women's football alone.
Hyundai champions Indian women's cricket, empowering talent and embracing progress in the nation's favorite sport.
Proud sponsors of Brisbane Lions
and Carlton Blues women's team, supporting their
journey in the national AFLW (Australian Football
League Women's) competition.
Partnered with the Girls on the Run non-profit organization to sponsor girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths while building a sense of connection in a team setting.
As part of the Surfing Australia sponsorship, Hyundai created the very first national women’s grassroots leader board and competition called She’s Electric.
Transforming the ground we stand on
In order to provide equal opportunities to women on and off the pitch, Hyundai is actively working to bring about changes in the automotive industry, starting at ground level. Under Hyundai's sponsorship, the non-profit organization Empowering Auto in Canada has been hosting an annual conference since 2022, where women in the automotive industry can come together to exchange ideas and collaborate to create an inclusive automotive industry environment.
These conferences are based on the employee resource group called Women @ HACC, which has been operated within Hyundai Canada Corporation to promote inclusivity and diversity among its employees. Members of this group took the lead in creating a conference where professionals in the automotive industry could gather and work to create a more inclusive industry.
Hyundai Motor America has also been reaching women before they enter the workforce. We have been operating a scholarship program since 2020 that specifically targets women students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, aiming to encourage their participation and advancement.
Hyundai has been striving toward the dream of creating “a world where everyone has equal opportunities to unleash their talents.” Hyundai Motor Company hopes that the campaign in celebration of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup™ will serve as a powerful driving force for all of us—on and off the pitch—to move toward our goals of the century.
