The end of an era for first IONIQ.
Production of the original Hyundai IONIQ series has ended.
Farewell to a true trailblazer, hello to the new IONIQs.
In July 2022, production of the original Hyundai IONIQ ended. With years of accolades and meaningful partnerships, IONIQ has been a pioneering force in the field of electrified mobility. The model’s innovations paved the way for the new generation of Hyundai BEVs to build on IONIQ’s history of top safety, value, efficiency, and design. Although there will be no direct successor to IONIQ, its spirit will live on through Hyundai’s IONIQ EV line-up brand.
Hyundai offers all types of electrified powertrains.
Three main types of electrified vehicles are available on the market today: Battery Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles. There also are mild hybrid vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles. Hyundai is currently the only manufacturer to offer all major electrified powertrains in production cars.
Our vehicles with Plug-in Hybrid powertrains.
Enjoy the best of both worlds. Electric when you want it. Petrol when you need it. If the all-electric range is depleted, the petrol engine in the SANTA FE Plug-in Hybrid and TUCSON Plug-in Hybrid takes you as far as you need to – and you can plug in to recharge later.
There are still options to find the perfect used IONIQ.
You can purchase a used IONIQ – and still enjoy Hyundai’s industry-leading warranty. Hyundai Promise Approved Used Cars Program offers a warranty period with a minimum duration of 2 years and a maximum of 5 years, also including a minimum period of 24 months of roadside assistance.
Is the IONIQ still being built?

Why was the original IONIQ discontinued?
